Design Process

Understand → Specify→ Design → Evaluate

Objective: The objective of the business is to see how happy their customers are and analyze areas of improvement. They should be able to see this data for a specific date range and be able to gain both quantitative and qualitative insights.
Challenge: Design two interfaces for a web admin panel related to the satisfaction ratings.

Understand

My first step towards understanding the problem space is to brainstorm as much as possible about the given scenario. My previous experience of making games, distributing and managing them with review management systems and analytics tools helped me a lot to understand and give me a kickstart in the brainstorming process. This helped me understand its shortcomings and the areas I can improve upon.

Assumptions

There were a couple of assumptions that I had made before designing the solution or stating the problem specifically. They are:

  • This is an internal CRM/Analytics tool to understand the market and will not be used by consumers directly.
  • Ratings, categories and comment data is already available or can be collected through a consumer based mobile/web application.

Low Fidelity Prototypes

I began my design process by drawing a rough low fidelity sketch.

Final Screens

The below are the final designs:

Aggregate Information Screen

Some other features include: accessibility features such as visual categorization of ratings for easier search and classification; reply services for direct connection with the customers regarding their responses and many more.
